The Tale of Tom Kitten by Beatrix Potter
Three little kittens - Mittens, Tom Kitten and Moppet lived with their mother Mrs. Tabitha Twitchit. One day, a visitor was coming to see them for afternoon tea. Mama cat had to get her little kittens ready before her friend arrived. She washed their faces, brushed their fur and combed their tails and whiskers. Now, it is time to dress the kittens in elegant clothing (the kind that you wear when going out). Tom had grown and the button on his shirt burst off. Mother cat had to sew them on again! Now, it is time to make some toast, so the little kitties were sent to the garden to be out of the way for a while. Whilst in the garden the kittens had fun - but they lost their clothes to the Puddle Ducks somehow! Mrs. Tabitha was not pleased when she discovered what happened for her friend would arrive any minute and the kittens would need another wash and another change of clothes. In the end Mrs. Tabitha had to tell her friend that the kittens were sick and had to stay in their room upstairs.
What I like about this book: beautiful pictures. Great, entertaining, funny. Elegant style of writing.
Cons: Type of English is a bit advance for beginners, my child got bored of the language style.
