In the past months maybe even years I have been thinking about starting a website and monetizing on said website. But the question is, what should it be about? And should I go about creating it?
Well, first off, it should be
- Consistent (post almost daily)
- Something that I have some knowledge of (doesn't require a lot of research)
- Focused (articles on the website should be related to one another) for now at least, I think.
So the question left now is what topic should I focus on. Well, I've thought about writing about my heritage (I'm a Bidayuh from Sarawak, a part of an island in Malaysia). Ok, yes, maybe, why not. That's not a bad idea. But honestly, I think this is the case. Maybe, for some modern Bidayuhs like me, the situation is similar for modern peoples of other small ethnic groups in other parts of the world: we have sadly not been passed on the knowledge of some of our traditions, cultures and languages. So, unfortunately if I were to start writing about it, I would have to spend a lot of time researching. As much as I would love to write articles about it, I just sadly do not have the time to do lots of research.
So, I have some second options and they are
- Write about Poznan (which is where I currently am)
- Write about childcare tips (but again need a lot of research, as I too as a first time mother am still learning so do not really qualify to write about it yet)
- Food (as lately in the past year I've been trying a lot of new recipes)
These are the few options I have thought about. I had thought a lot about it. And till now it is hard to write daily. So, to solve this problem the best way to do it just to write down about me, my life and my thoughts in general. Just everything in one. And maybe along the way when I've gained some writing skills, and researching skills, it might be easier to write about things that I have little knowledge of.
